Just in case you’re wondering why I have started posting more generally on this blogspot – a blogspot which was originally intended for matters concerning economics and finance – it is because my main blogspot has been locked by Blogger, pending investigation.
Originally, it was stated that they feared that the weblog was a “spam blog”. That, of course, was nonsense. Now they say that I might have violated their ‘Terms of Service’.
I wish they would have the decency to email me to explain exactly what I have done that violates their ‘Terms of Service’. I would be only too willing to correct anything which they feel offends them, or violates the terms.
What I can say is this: I have tried very, very hard to bring you, my loyal visitors, only the highest standards, and in several languages. Sometimes, the material has been a little controversial, I realize, but in this pc world, it doesn’t take much to be a little controversial. In any case, why shoot the messenger? I would like to say this, however: I have always tried to be balanced; and I have also tried to give each side a voice.
I find this self-appointed censorship on the part of Google/Blogger disturbing indeed. Our freedom of expression is being taken away, and many people don’t even realize it is happening.
Again, I would ask you to write to Blogger, using the following address: help@blogger.com . Please request that my blog be unlocked. When it is unlocked, and hopefully that will be soon, I shall be able to resume my blogging activities on A New Dark Age Is Dawning, and at the same time be able to restore this blog for the use it was intended, namely to blog about economics and financial affairs.

Mark, So glad to hear that you are continuing your important work, pending an investigation by Google. I hope they appreciate how much countless academics depend on the comprehensive and multilingual coverage of the most important events of the day, both for themselves and their students. I hope as a part of their investigation that they will examine the list of visitors which includes many, many people from the most important and prestigious universities in the world.

These have been a harrowing few weeks for me. So much work could go up in smoke. I really do not understand what I am supposed to have done wrong. I wish that Google/Blogger would have the decency at least to tell me.
